During the winter, when days are shorter and nights are longer, we always devote more time to making dinner. And that’s when we really enjoy making (and eating) pastries. Making dinner rolls, croissant and bread rolls takes a bit more timewhich makes winter ideal season to bake them. We always loved eating dinner rolls with a glass of kefir. And we absolutely adore every version of them. Salty, sweet with ot without filling, they always fill our body and soul with warmth. Although we’ve been making them for so long, they are no match for the ones our mom makes which are soft as a cloud. To make dinner rolls, you really don’t need a lot of ingredients, just good will. So let’s start with the recipe!
Ingredients:
- 600g of smooth flour
- 1 baking poweder
- teaspoon of salt
- 200g of sour cream or yogurt
- 200ml of warm milk
- 1 block of yeast
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- 1 egg
- 2 spoons of melted butter
Put the yeast and honey in 200ml of warm milk and let the yeast rise. Prepare dry ingredients(flour, baking powder, salt) in a bigger bowl. When the yeast has risen, put it in dry ingredients and add sour cream of yogurt. Mix it all up and leave the dough to rest in a warm place for 30 minutes. When dough has risen, roll it out and coat it with melted butter. Then cut out the dough into triangles. You can either fill it or leave it empty, your choice. Scramble the egg, and coat the triangles with it. Bake for 15 in 180°C and when they start to get a golden/brown color, they’re ready!

You can coat your finished dinner rolls with melted butter and sprinkle them with coarse salt. And that’s it! Enjoy!
