Why You Need a Serum in Your Skincare Routine

by

I have to admit, I’m fully obsessed with serums, they have totally changed my skin care game. I have typical combination skin: oily skin with dry patches, so it’s really hard for me to find a moisturizer that is perfect for my skin type. And serums really turned it around for me! My skin is evening out, I have no breakouts, and it looks suuuper healthy and glowy. I have been asked so many times – what is the diference between serums and moisturizers? Which is better? Well, serums can penetrate more deeply than many moisturizers can, they are super lightweight and easily absorbed. Face moisturisers usually have heavier formulas, and can clog your pores which may lead to more breakouts. Don’t get me wrong, if you find the right kind of moisturizer for your skin, don’t skip this step. It can help maintain your skin balance.

serum review

I use face serums in my both day and night routines. Everyone has their own ‘technique’ of application, I like to warm it up between my fingers and then gently massage it into the skin.

Today, I will review three serums by San natural cosmetics – Regenerative Serum, Around-Eye Serum and Anti-Age Serum. What firstly attracted me to these is that they are completely natural – no parabens, artificial colors, silicones, artificial fragrances or even preservatives. And the fact that is cruelty free makes them even better! All three products come in a glass 10ml bottle with pipette, which really makes it easy to apply.

Regenerative Serum for sensitive skin is ideal for sensitive and dry skin. It helps to protect the skin from dehydration, making it smooth and soft. With only a few drops, serum makes my face feel hydrated and soft, not oily. The fragrance of the serum is really pleasant. It’s subtle but really lovely. So far it hasn’t caused me any irritation and pimples. I use this serum in combination with Around-Eye Serum. Which according to official site, helps to smooth out fine lines around eyes and lips, prevents premature aging of the skin and protects skin from dryness and dehydration. I love this eye serum. It is perfect for use both day and night, and it is so easy to apply. I need only one drop to cover my both under eye areas. Definitely feels refreshing and moisturising. It sinks in quickly and makes my eyes look more awake.

And the last serum I have tried is Anti-Age Serum with carotenoids. It helps protect the skin from dehydration, nourishes and hydrates and prevent premature skin aging. Some of the ingredients are wild rose oil, sea buckthorn, marigold, argan… I have already used wild rose and argan oil in my beauty routine, so I was thrilled to see that they were one of the main ingredients in this product. I perfer to apply it only at night, more as a preventative measure for stopping the fine lines and wrinkles. However, I do find this product to effectively hydrate and provide moisture while leaving my face feeling soft and smooth.

I have been using ‘San’ serums for almost a month now, and I haven’t noticed any negative effects, such as pimples or acne. Although the 10ml pack seems quite small, it really isn’t. You’ll need only 2-3 drops of product for the entire face. After 3 weeks of use, I still have more than half of bottle of each serum.

Is serum a part of your daily skin care regimen already?

These serums sound pretty good! Bookmarking this post for future use as I’m on the lookout for a new serum once my current one runs out.

I really need to purchase a new serum to add to my skin care routine – when I used to use the Mario Badescu Vitamin C one it honestly did wonders for my skin! 🙂

I do not use serum. In fact, I was not aware it could be used on the face since I am accustomed to using butters and balms. However, moisture and hydration sound like something I need. 🙂
