We all know the rule – ‘take off your makeup before bed’, right? As much as removing makeup can be a hassle, it is a prerequisite for beautiful and healthy skin. Whether you remove it with micellar water, gel or foam – this is a step we shouldn’t skip. To make this process as easy as possible and to make it efficient, we decided to try Makeup Eraser. We believe that you have all heard of this magic cloth – it has been praised by many bloggers, makeup artists and other makeup enthusiasts. But what makes it so special?
According to the official page, Makeup Eraser is made from millions of tiny fibers which are 10-50 times thinner than a human hair. It can erase waterproof mascara, eyeliner, foundation, blush and more. And each cloth will last you up to three to five years (up to 1,000 machine washes).

We have to admit, when we first heard about this product, we were a bit skeptical. How can such a small cloth remove the entire makeup from the face only with the help of water?! How? So we took Makeup Eraser in our hands and started removing makeup. Our reaction was – WOOOW! A complete surprise! Powder, blush and bronzer came off within a minute. What gave us little trouble was eye makeup. As much as we tried to remove it, even after a few minutes of rubbing, the mascara and eyeliner were still visible. We don’t know if it’s up to us, but we both had the same problem. One more thing we forgot to mention, the cloth is so soft and so fluffy and leaves no irritation.
We decided to make a few swatches on hand for you to see how the Makeup Eraser works. The first picture shows foundation, waterproof matte lipsticks red and dark brown and eyeliner. The second picture shows how much makeup, Makeup Eraser removed. You could see only small traces of lipsticks, and we have to say they are really hard to remove and it usually takes a double cleanse with micellar water to take them off.
All in all, we would definitely recommend it. Not only because its efficiency, but also for the fact that it contributes to waste reduction. Although makeup wipes are the easiest option for everyone, they are also one of the biggest environmental pollutants. 7.6 billion pounds of wipes are thrown into our landfills each year, that’s 20 million pounds of makeup wipes a day. And most of them are made of polyester and other biodegradable materials. With the daily increase of waste ( the world’s largest Garbage Patch has grown to more than 600,000 square miles), it is time to start thinking about waste management and taking concrete actions.
How to Use Makeup Eraser?
- Makeup Eraser should be washed in the washing machine before first use. This is something that is often forgotten by many, and is actually the most important step, because that is how the fibers are activated.
- Soak in warm water and remove the makeup in gentle circular motion with front side of the Makeup Eraser ( the one that doesn’t have the label on)
- Turn the cloth to the other side, the one with the label and go again in a circular motion across the face – this will exfoliate your skin.
- Wash Makeup Eraser between each use.
