Pumpkin Season is here and we’re so ready for all the pumpkin pies, cookies, soups we can handle! Recently we found out that pumpkins are not only good for eating, but they are perfect for our skin too! Did you know that?
Pumpkins are loaded with a number of vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C (which helps fight sun damage and free radicals on the skin, preventing wrinkles and brown spots) and vitamin A ( minimizes acne scars). Fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are another pumpkin goodies – they brighten and smooth the skin. Amazing, right?
Here is a recipe for a face mask, in which the biggest star is – pumpkin! It’s so easy to make and you probably already have the ingredients in your kitchen right now!
All you need:
- 1 small pumpkin
- ½ tsp honey
- ½ tsp milk
To make the face mask simply whisk all three ingredients together… 2 tbs of pumpkin puree, honey and milk. Mix well. Apply the mask on clean skin using your fingers; avoid getting the mixture too close to the eyes. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes and then gently rinse off with lukewarm water. Repeat about once a week.
* for a dry skin, add in mixture ½ tsp of brown sugar, and for oily skin ½ tsp of apple juice.
We’re total fans of it! It’s refreshing and it makes our skin soft, fresh and glowing. Not to mention, it smells pretty good too.

October 31, 2018This is really interesting. This time last year I tried a pumpkin enzyme powder exfoliator which was amazing! Actually smelled of cake but worked really well. I’ve not thought of using pumpkin for skincare treats. I’m definitely going to try this with my leftover pumpkin!
