If we had to choose only one make up product, we would definitely go for foundation. A good solid base is the most important part of make up to us, as for the most of the day we wear very little of it. Foundation, mascara, corrector and we are ready to go. Because of that, it is essential for us to have a good foundation, not just in terms of color and structure, but to be non-comedogenic as well, unlike the Revlon Colorstay, that put my skin through so much sh** that i had to fight acne for years wit a whole arsenal of creams, tonics and dermatologists. You might have read our review of Mac face&body (read here) powder and LANCÔME Teint Idole Ultra Cushion (read here)that were great in their own way, but this one that we are about to review really amazed us.
Nars sheer glow (buy here) is a foundation that raised a lot of buzz lately, and with a good reason. As they say in Croatia, a good horse always raises dust. It has a perfect texture, so light that we don’t even feel it on our face, but at the same time it conceals superbly. Off to a great start, right? Concealment is medium to strong, and we have to note that it doesn’t have a mask effect on our face, you know we hate that. Having “Glow” in it’s name, you would expect it to have a thin texture, and at the first glance you might think that it will look heavy and matte, but it immediately proved us wrong and continued to stack up on positives.
Foundation’s ingredients actively contribute to make your skin look fresh, and we could easily say that it looks a lot more healthier, mainly due to the strong antioxidants that protect your skin from harmful free radicals, while glycerine, which is known to be one of the most effective and well known humectants, attracts and holds moisture. Also, our beloved Vitamin C actively helps skin to shine, preventing colorless and slightly unhealthy skin look, and turmeric extract equals it’s tone. God, this foundation just can’t go wrong!
Although it’s stated that the powder is for dry and mixed skin, it amazed us again because it works great on our oily skin. We apply it with fingers or a damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion sponge and without much work, it blends quite quickly, simple and nicely. It has a wide selection of shades, so everyone can find the perfect one for themselves. foundation comes in a glass 30ml bottle that has a clean and minimal design.
We found 2 flaws, though (who would’ve thought, right?). First one is that you have to buy the pump separately, and the second is that it is not available in Croatia. But all in all, this is the best foundation that we had a chance to try, for now.
