Cruelty-Free & Vegan Skincare And Makeup Brands To Try

As true animal lovers, and proud owners of a hyperactive dog Ollie and a grumpy cat Mrvica, for the last couple of years we were making more wiser and informed choices and became more aware of what we actually put on our skin. It would be a lie if we say that we completely switched to cruelty-free cosmetics, but we think that it’s a process, and we are taking it step by step.

Finding products that are cruelty-free, but also vegan can be tricky. That’s why we rounded up a list of best cruelty-free skin care and beauty brands.

NOTO botanics

NOTO botanics is a vegan and cruelty free cosmetic brand by celebrity makeup artist, Gloria Noto. The range of products includes a hydrating toner, highlighting cream and stick, skin serum, body and hair oil and multi-use color stain.

Thanks to the Nina Skarabela you can go vegan and cruelty free with the nail polish too. The German brand OZN is an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional nail polishes, and despite the avoidance of harmful ingredients, the colour intensity and shine is not lost. They have a wide color palette… and all we can say is WOW!

An Australian organic, vegan and cruelty free skincare range made of ingredients that are grown and processed in the south of Morocco, such as Argan oil, Rhassoul (a powder made from volcanic rocks), pure rose water and prickly pear seed oil. The best of all, Akhal Beauty donates $1 for each product sold to the non-profit CIFD, an organisation which helps children from the remote High Atlas Mountain region of Morocco with the education and improvement of living conditions.

Range of products inspired by the nature and unspoiled natural resources of Iceland, that soothes, stabilizes, moisturizes and heals the skin, returning it to a glowing, youthful state.

Founded in New York, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics has it all: from the lip balm, eye shadows, tint moisturizer to the brushes and nail polishes.

Cherry on top….GREEN CHIC

Green Chic is an online shopping platform where you can buy all natural and organic cosmetics. You can find a lot of amazing brands like Absolution, Grown Alchemist, Melvita and The Organic Pharmacy, just to name a few. The best of all, they research cosmetic brands and the products that they sell on their site to make sure they don’t contain any toxic ingredients such as parabens, oxybenzone, SLS and synthetic fragrances. So you can shop completely worry free. All products on Green Chic are not only cruelty-free, but the packaging are also environmentally-friendly. And for all of that, we give them a big green thumbs up!

I’ve been using natural and cruelty free skin care products for 3 years now and my complexion has gotten so much better ever since. I would never use any products containing silicones or parabens.

However, the products you introduced here are totally new to me :D. Maybe because they aren’t available in any stores here in Austria, but I gotta take a look at them definitely. One of my favorite brands is definitely Oliveda. I can really recommend it :).

This is amazing! I was actually planning a post like this on my blog last month and ended up writing one about how blurry the lines are when trying to pick CF brands sometimes instead. Haven’t heard of the first two, I’m a big fan of skyn iceland though! x
